MagSafe Phone Mount for the Tesla Model S (2012-2020)
Dashboard MagSafe mount for Tesla Model S (2012–2020). Designed for clean cable routing, hidden USB-C, and stable phone positioning without blocking sightlines.

Description
This custom MagSafe dashboard mount is purpose-built for the Tesla Model S (2012–2020). It integrates seamlessly into the dash, positioning your phone just to the right of the driver’s line of sight for easy access without obstructing the windshield. The mount conceals the USB-C charging cable inside a dedicated channel, eliminating visible wires for a factory-like finish.
To handle the extreme heat of a sun-baked cabin, the design is optimized for high-temperature filaments such as ABS. Two printable options are included: a single-piece version, and a three-part variant that avoids the need for print supports. Once printed, the MagSafe puck is press-fit and secured with 3M VHB tape, which also serves to anchor the mount itself firmly to the dashboard.
The geometry is tuned for stability, reducing vibration while driving and blending cleanly with Tesla’s interior design language. Combined with proper cable routing behind the instrument cluster trim, the result is a discreet, rock-solid phone mount that feels like it belongs in the car.
Assembly Instructions
-
Prepare the print
- Choose either the single-piece mount or the three-part support-free version.
- Print in ABS (recommended) or another high-temperature filament to withstand cabin heat.
-
Route the cable
- Feed the MagSafe USB-C cable through the stem of the mount and into the base channel.
- Ensure the cable sits flush in the channel.
-
Install the MagSafe puck
- Secure the MagSafe charging puck into the cavity with 3M VHB tape.
- Confirm it’s centered and firmly seated.
-
Secure the cable in channel
- Apply VHB tape over the USB-C cable in the base channel to lock it in place.
- Leave the tape backing on until final mounting.
-
Prep the dashboard
- Clean the mounting area thoroughly with isopropyl alcohol for best adhesion.
-
Route the cable under trim
- Carefully pry the instrument cluster trim away from the dash.
- Use shims to hold it open while routing the USB-C cable under the steering wheel and between the cluster and dash.
- This step can be tricky—take your time.
-
Mount to the dash
- Peel the VHB tape backing from the base of the mount.
- Position the mount so its lip tucks under the cluster and dash trim.
- Press firmly to secure in place.
